Head to head

Physician's CHOICE Probiotics 60 Billion CFU vs NewRhythm Probiotics 50 Billion CFU

Both score 2 out of 6, and on the identical criteria. On label disclosure there is nothing to choose between them.

What this compares. Six yes-or-no questions about what each label discloses, scored under methodology v1.14 from dated screenshots of the two live labels (Physician's CHOICE Probiotics 60 Billion CFU captured 2026-09-07, NewRhythm Probiotics 50 Billion CFU captured 2026-09-27). A higher score means the label tells you more, not that the product works better. Neither product was lab-tested, and nothing here is medical advice or a recommendation to buy either one.

Where they differ

They do not differ on any criterion: both labels scored identically on all six. The reasoning for each is under “Where they agree” below.

Where they agree

Both labels were scored the same way on the remaining 6.

0 / 0
1. Exact amount for every active ingredient

Physician's CHOICE Probiotics 60 Billion CFU: Probiotic Blend 220 mg and Prebiotic Blend 150 mg give blend totals only, no per-ingredient amounts.

NewRhythm Probiotics 50 Billion CFU: Two blends. Probiotic Blend gives only an aggregate 50 Billion CFU across 20 organisms, and Premium Prebiotic Fiber Blend gives only a 150 mg total with no ingredients named at all.

2. Standardization percentage stated

Physician's CHOICE Probiotics 60 Billion CFU: No standardization-dependent ingredient in the formula.

NewRhythm Probiotics 50 Billion CFU: This is a judgment call worth stating. No ingredient identified on the panel is standardization-dependent: the actives are live organisms, and the prebiotic blend names nothing that requires a marker percentage. The criterion says in terms that a product scores 1 by default when nothing in the formula requires a stated percentage. The uncomfortable consequence is that a blend disclosing no ingredients cannot be shown to need a percentage, so non-disclosure is not penalised here. That non-disclosure is already captured, heavily, by criterion 1, and scoring it twice would double-count one failure. Flagged for review.

3. Chemical form or strain named

Physician's CHOICE Probiotics 60 Billion CFU: Ten organisms named to species only (Lacticaseibacillus casei, Lactobacillus acidophilus, ... Lactobacillus bulgaricus), no strain designations, per methodology v1.6.

NewRhythm Probiotics 50 Billion CFU: All 20 organisms are named to genus and species only, most of them abbreviated (L. acidophilus, B. lactis, Pediococcus pentosaceus and so on), with no strain designations anywhere. The listing title and the bottle front both advertise '20 Strains'. Third product in the sample to market strain counts while naming no strains.

4. Dose within the trial range

Physician's CHOICE Probiotics 60 Billion CFU: Prebiotic Blend totals 150 mg including inulin from Jerusalem artichoke and chicory, an order of magnitude below the 12 g/d inulin reference range even if the blend were entirely inulin; probiotics excluded per methodology.

NewRhythm Probiotics 50 Billion CFU: The probiotics are an aggregate with no per-organism split and no strain designations, so nothing can be matched to a trial under the attribution rule. On v1.13, the footnote reads 'Contains a minimum of 50 billion live bacteria when manufactured, and provides viable levels until at least the best by date'. The at-manufacture count is a number; the through-expiry assurance is the phrase 'viable levels', which is not a quantity. No delivered dose is established. The contrast with NOW Probiotic-10, whose label commits to a specific figure through the Best By date, is the distinction v1.13 was written to draw. The prebiotic blend discloses no composition.

5. Certificate of analysis is public

Physician's CHOICE Probiotics 60 Billion CFU: No publicly accessible third-party certificate of analysis located 2026-09-07 (product page, brand site, site-scoped search, retail listing images); recorded as a negative finding, not a claim that none exists.

NewRhythm Probiotics 50 Billion CFU: No publicly accessible third-party certificate of analysis located 2026-09-27 (listing images, brand site, site-scoped and open web search). The bottle front prints '3RD PARTY TESTED' and listing image 6, headed 'We take test seriously', shows specification tables for microbiological and heavy metal contamination with generic passed marks, carrying no laboratory name, no batch or lot number, no numerical results and no date. That is a testing claim without a document behind it, which the methodology excludes explicitly. Recorded as a negative finding, not a claim that none exists.

6. Per-serving amounts are complete

Physician's CHOICE Probiotics 60 Billion CFU: Serving size 1 capsule and 30 servings per container both stated.

NewRhythm Probiotics 50 Billion CFU: Serving size 2 veggie capsules and servings per container 30 are both printed on the panel.
